This attractively designed pepper/salt mill operates with light pressure on the top button. Four (4) AA batteries (not included) are installed by twisting off the stainless steel top. Pulling the black battery and motor internal holder upward allows easy filling of the peppercorn or coarse salt well. Peppercorn/course salt well is transparent to indicate when refilling is necessary. Openly accessible (under the base) are (1) the grind adjustment screw, from fine to coarse, and (2) a small light that goes on each time you use the grinder to see how much is being dispensed.
